2013-current

This period covers the second ENJJPT generation starting in 2013 after a 9 year gap since 2004. The T37B “Tweet” was no longer present in the 80Th Flying Training Wing, Sheppard AFB,  and was replaced in 2008 by the modern T6A. The T38, still present,  was upgraded from the A model to the C model (glass cockpit) starting in 2007.

As of 2005 the Belgian Alpha Jets were integrated in the A-Jets program with France providing fast jet training out of Cazaux Air Force Base (France) for Belgian and French fast jet students (Belgian students sent to the USAF were still limited in numbers). Almost a decade later the Belgian Alpha Jets were approaching their end of life and the Belgian Air Staff re-entered the ENJJPT program in 2013 to keep all options open for future fast jet training. Initially Belgium started with sending 02 students per year for a single ENJJPT Class but these numbers increased as the Belgian Alpha Jet potential decreased. Today all Belgium student pilots selected for the fast jet track are passing through ENJJPT. Pilot training is provided on the T6A Texan II (+/- 125 hrs) and T38C (upgraded avionics) (+/- 135 hrs).
